An amazing 1970s Halston in a rich grey taupe shape of a fine wool that has perhaps a touch of cashmere. This was one of his favorite fabric to use for day and the lines are also classically Halston. It is bias cut and with as little seaming as possible - I think his life goal was to work dresses around fabric rather then seam fabric into shape! The front plunges almost to the waist but stops just short of indecency. The waist is elastic so is extremely comfortable to wear and will adjust easily to fit many sizes. He used wider elastics at his waistlines so this band also acts as a belt and serves to define the waist. From there the skirt has an almost tulip shape with a slight fullness through the hip and soft, clever pleating at the front that expands as the wearer needs it but stays slim when you are at rest. It is all hand sewn and hand finished inside. Glorious, sexy and jet set chic! Excellent condition Shoulders: no defined seams
Sleeves: approx 25" long
Bust: no defined side seams as the sleeves come out from the top of the waist band
Waist: stretches 12-17" flat across
Hips: open to approx 21" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 15" from neck to bottom of elastic at the waist Skirt: 22" from bottom of elastic at the waist to hem
Unlined and slips over the head to wear. The waist is elastic so can accommodate a variety of sizes. The fabric is a fine virgin wool with perhaps a touch of cashmere in it.
